Before you begin we need to change Fireworks mode from Expanded Mode to Iconic Mode with Panel Names. To do this find the Expanded Mode button on the menu bar near the far right. Click it and select the appropriate mode. This should change the right hand tool bar to look like the one in the video.
The various shape and auto shape tools are really quite easy to use. You are now going to use the Doughnut Shape Tool and the Reshape Area Tool to make a smiley face. Follow the animated demo below. After you have finished, move the joints of the stick person to your own unique pose. |

Select the Pinwheel from the Auto Shapes Window and drag it to the bottom left corner of the screen.
Use the Selection Tool to make sure it is selected. In the properties panel, set it's fill color to green. Set it's stroke color to black and a stroke width of 3. Use the Sub-selection Tool to select only half of the pinwheel, set it's color to blue. Use the Selection Tool to click on the pinwheel. Your pinwheel should have four yellow diamonds across its center. Click and drag the"Curve and Kind" diamond, shown at the right, and choose your desired design |
